A second-generation Ni-based superalloy has been directionally solidified by using a Bridgman method, and the key processing steps have been investigated with a focus on their effects on microstructure evolution and mechanical properties. The as-grown microstructure is of a typical dendrite structure with microscopic elemental segregation during solidification. The effect of carbon nanotubes on the physical and microstructure properties of fly ash geopolymer has been investigated in this paper. Fly ash was mixed to carbon nanotubes and sing sodium hydroxide NaOH at different concentrations of 10 M 15 M and 20 M, respectively. Sep 01, 2011 · The mechanical properties also differ between CNTs grown with pre deposited catalyst and those grown with floating catalyst. For example, the floating catalyst approach has been shown to produce VACNTs that exhibit a foam-like hysteresis during compressive deformation followed by recovery to nearly their original height even after large.

The nitrogen and argon adsorption isotherms of three different zeolites, calcium A, ZSM-5, and sodium Y were obtained at 77.3 and 87.5 K. Using a continuous volumetric technique high resolution data was obtained in the Henry's Law region of the isotherm at relative pressures below 10 −1 P/Po. The data for the two adsorbates indicates that nitrogen, due to its quadrupole moment, shows a high. Fabrication of dense aluminum Al-1100 parts >99.3% of relative density by our recently developed laser-foil-printing LFP additive manufacturing method was investigated as described in this paper. This was achieved by using a laser energy density of 7.0 MW/cm2 to stabilize the melt pool formation and create sufficient penetration depth with 300 μm thickness foil. The alloy compositions investigated in the present study can be classified into four groups based on the Zn / Y ratios. As described in Table 1, A, B, C and D groups include the alloy compositions with Zn / Y ratio of ∼10, 5∼7, 2∼2.5 and 1.5∼2, respectively. The phases existing in the as-cast microstructure were identified by XRD, and the results are also included in Table 1. Nov 30, 2019 · Catalyst coated membranes CCMs in polymer electrolyte fuel cells are subjected to mechanical stresses in the form of fatigue and creep that deteriorate the durability and lifetime of the cells. The catalytic mechanisms of transition-metal compounds during the hydrogen sorption reaction of magnesium-based hydrides were investigated through relevant experiments. Catalytic activity was found to be influenced by four distinct physico-thermodynamic properties of the transition-metal compound: a high number of structural defects, a low stability of the compound, which however has to be.

In this literature review, the current state-of-art of coatings for orthodontic archwires’ increasing antimicrobial and relevant mechanical properties, such as surface topography, friction or corrosion resistance, has been presented. There is a growing request for orthodontic appliances, therefore, most researchers focus on innovative functional coatings to cover orthodontic archwires. The <111> axis of the CuNiFe was observed to be the easy axis of magnetization. We also investigated the dynamic magnetization properties of the sample under an AC magnetic field. By subtracting the magnetic signal induced by the eddy current from the magnetization curves of the sample, we could obtain the intrinsic AC magnetization properties. 1 hour ago · Laser shock peening LSP is an innovative surface treatment process with the potential to change surface microstructure and improve mechanical properties of additively manufactured AM parts.
